So glad I didn't skip this episode. I nearly robbed myself from this ending.

why skip a show when it gets character building beyond whatever he was doing with Animal girl in the caravan

Because I thought Episode 11 would have also made a wonderful ending, and have experienced animes where the last episode ruins everything in order to peak interest in a second season. I was a bit nervous that this anime was going to follow suit, but it didn't.

Honestly, it was a temporary one, but the last 3 out of 5 animes that I had watched prior ended up that way just to sell the book series.

I'm not too sure, the anime ended in a way where there's really not much they can go off by unless they decide to go in a more unite the demon and human plot with some villain that's stronger than Leo. Maybe a loose bioweapon branding Leo defective and attempt to kill everyone etc... I'm not sure it'd have to be up to them to decide where they'd want to take the story if they want to go a more serious approach.

I agree with you . and as for the villain , they can choose from one of his robot brother/sister... Remember leo once said that all of the other humanoid heroes created alongside him were stronger than him . they can just say that one of them survived somehow and swore vengeance against demons . They can easily take the story to another level by showing leo fighting to unite both realms while his brother tries to eliminate one side ( demon side ) ... But they can also end it here by declaring this a happy ending .

If it was a fighting anime they would go that route of having another survivor or creator of program being around or someone from program being aware he has now disabled the programming. It is not that kind of show though so I think they are fine leaving it like this or they possibly do a 2nd season of them trying to work with humans. The humans must have a king or queen so it would be like 2 businesses collaborating if they want to keep the work aspect.
